Dense Fog Covers Several Regions of Uzbekistan, Visibility in Some Areas Drops to 50 Meters
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 10:00 p.m. on 8 January 2026, dense fog was reported in the Tashkent, Jizzakh, Bukhara, Navoiy, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, and Syrdarya regions, in the city of Tashkent, as well as across the Ferghana Valley, according to the Hydrometeorological Service Agency.
The phenomenon is expected to persist until the morning of January 9, with fog lasting throughout the day in certain areas of the Ferghana Valley. In cities such as Bukhara, Karshi, Termez, Tashkent, Namangan, and Andijan, visibility has locally dropped to 50–100 meters.
Authorities are advising citizens to exercise heightened caution when traveling on roads, adhere to speed limits, and remain attentive while operating vehicles due to the dense fog and temperature inversion.
