Denis Istomin reaches second round of Apia International Sydney

Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin advanced to the second round of Apia International Sydney, defeating Australia’s James Duckworth in three sets - 6/7(4), 6/4, 7/6(3).
The match lasted two hours and 18 minutes. Istomin served 11 aces and made one double fault. Duckworth recorded 13 aces and committee one double fault.
In the second round, Denis Istomin will face Fernando Verdasco from Spain, who did not play in the first round of the tournament.
