Denis Istomin advances to second round of Brisbane International

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin clinched his first victory in new season, defeating Martin Klizan of Slovak Republic in the first round of Brisbane International (Australia).

World number 43, Denis Istomin, defeated world number 30 in straight sets – 6:1 and 6:2 to advance next round.

The match lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes. Istomin clinched four break points, while Klizan failed to win two his break points.

Denis Istomin recorded six aces and two double faults, while Martin Klizan served three aces and made three double faults.

In the second round, Uzbek star will face the winner of the match between Russia’s Igor Kunitsin and Australia’s Lleyton Hewitt.
