Demand for Road Freight Between Russia and Uzbekistan Rises 31%
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — This autumn, businesses are actively expanding shipment volumes between Russia and Uzbekistan.
According to PEK, demand for road freight between the two countries grew by 31.5% in September–October 2025 compared to the same period last year, reports RIA Novosti.
“In September–October, business demand for cargo delivery between Russia and Uzbekistan increased by 31.5% year-on-year. The company, represented in Uzbekistan with its own branches and warehouse facilities, carries out daily shipments along this route,” PEK stated.
Sergey Denisov, Director of PEK: Silk Way, emphasized that this season has seen particularly active shipments of food products, including fruits and vegetables, as well as accelerated deliveries ahead of the sales season starting in mid-November.
The greatest growth in demand has been observed in the segment of small shipments—electronics, textile samples for certification in EAEU countries, equipment components, and auto parts—driven by the rapid expansion of e-commerce.
Amid growing demand, the average road freight rates between Uzbekistan and Russia increased by 16% compared to last year. As of early November, a shipment from Moscow to Tashkent cost 252,000 rubles per trip.
The company explained that the rate increase is due to currency fluctuations and inflation in Uzbekistan, which reached 5.7% over the first ten months of 2025, according to the National Statistics Committee.
