Delegation of Uzbekistan holds negotiations in US
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held negotiations with the officials of the USA on 9-11 December 2013. The Uzbek delegation is paying visit to Washington within the annual Uzbek-US bilateral consultations.

The delegation of Uzbekistan held meetings with the Deputy State Secretary of the US William Burns, the Under Secretary of Defense James Miller, Deputy Advisor of the US President on national security Antony Blinken and Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Desai Biswal.

The sides considered current state and perspectives of bilateral relations, separate international and regional issues, including situation in Afghanistan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

The Uzbek delegation held talks with the leader of Democratic Minority of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi, Senators Jeff Flake and Mazie Hirano, chairperson of the subcommittee on Europe and Eurasia of the House of Representatives Dana Rohrabacher, Congressmen Amerish Bera and Moran James Jr. The sides exchanged opinion on priority direction of deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation and other issues of the Uzbek-US relations.

The delegation also met with the Vice-President of International Center for not-for-profit law Natalia Bourjaily, other representatives of the state and public organizations of the United States.
