Delegation of Uzbekistan holds negotiations in Great Britain

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov is paying an official visit to Great Britain and held negotiations and meetings in London on 20-22 November 2013.

The Uzbek delegation held talks and meetings with the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of Great Britain William Hague, Senior Minister of State at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and Minister for Faith and Communities at the Department for Communities and Local Government Baroness Warsi, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister for International Security Strategy of the State for Defense Andrew Murrison, Deputy special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Neil Crompton, deputy chairperson of All-party parliamentary “Britain – Uzbekistan” Baroness Elizabeth Symons.

The sides considered wide range of issues of bilateral relations with focus on perspective directions of deepening cooperation in various areas, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

The delegation also visited the UK Parliament to participate in the opening ceremony of the 20th session of the British-Uzbek Council trade and industry council, which considered issues of deepening investment and trade-economic interaction, as well as realization of the joint projects.

Within the visit to British Library, the Uzbek side received copies of the invaluable books of the 15th and 16th centuries - Babur-name, Zafar-name, Tavarih-I guzidayi nusrat-name, which belong to rich historic and spiritual heritage of the Uzbek people.
