Delegation of Uzbekistan hold talks at Ministry of Land, Agriculture and Forestry of Bulgaria

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Nodir Otajonov met with Rumen Porojanov, Minister of Land, Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Bulgaria in Sofia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Trade.

Cooperation in the field of agriculture is one promising area for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Bulgaria. It should be noted that Uzbekistan has vast experience and potential in the production of high-quality food products due to suitable climatic conditions. More than 320 days of sunshine a year, successive changes in all four climatic seasons, allow to grow vegetables, fruits, grapes and melons with unique taste and nutritional qualities, which have no analogues in the world selection.

"The agricultural sector of Bulgaria is considered one of the most effective in the European Union. Taking into account the extensive experience of Bulgaria in this sphere of the economy, the Uzbek side attaches special importance to strengthening interaction with the Bulgarian side in agriculture," Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Sahib Saifnazarov said.

In this regard, the Uzbek side was invited to intensify mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Bulgaria, in particular, to create a joint production of export-oriented fruit and vegetable products using intensive technologies, as well as the creation of modern livestock breeding complexes for the production of meat and milk products.

The delegation of Uzbekistan also expressed interest in exchanging experience with Bulgarian counterparts in the field of wine production.
