Delegation of Uzbekistan hold meeting with the Governor of Chelyabinsk region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan held a working meeting with the Governor of the Chelyabinsk region of Russia, Boris Dubrovsky.

The sides discussed the development of trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Chelyabinsk region.

Boris Dubrovsky said that the parties have real prospects for increasing trade. "As practice shows, long-term joint projects in production follow the trade. I am sure that the effectiveness of your trip to Chelyabinsk region will be significant for both sides," he added.

"We are confident that our trade and economic relations will continue to develop on a mutually beneficial and fruitful basis," Erkabay Tadjiev, the first deputy general prosecutor of the Republic of Uzbekistan, said.

The sides discussed issues of cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, deliveries of agricultural products, trade and economic cooperation and development of cooperation between Chelyabinsk region and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The trade turnover between Chelyabinsk region and the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017 was 76% higher than the level of 2016 and made up US$291 million. For the first 6 months of 2018, the mutual trade made up US$152 million, which is 40% more compared to the previous year.

In June 2018, the South Ural agroholding “Churilovo” concluded a strategic agreement with Uzbekoziqovqatholding" and its subsidiary "Uzagroeksport" and the leading agricultural producers for the supply of seasonal vegetables and fruits.

Since July, supplies to the territory of the Urals and Siberia began from Uzbekistan. During this time, more than 700 tons of fruit and vegetable products were received and sold.
