At a meeting in the Norwegian capital, representatives of about 50 states and international organizations discussed the state and prospects of the Afghan settlement, exchanged views on ways to achieve sustainable and lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The delegation of Uzbekistan informed the participants of the meeting about the position on the resolution of the Afghan problem, about the results of the official visit of the President of Afghanistan, Muhammad Ashraf Ghani, to Uzbekistan on 4-6 December 2017.
In the speech, the head of the Uzbek delegation paid special attention to the main provisions of the program speeches of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyov at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly and on 10 November in Samarkand at the opening of the international conference "Central Asia: One Past and a Common Future, Cooperation for Sustainable Development and mutual prosperity ".
It was stated that Uzbekistan will continue to make efforts to promote the socio-economic development of Afghanistan, including by building up bilateral trade and economic relations, implementing joint transport, communication, energy and other projects.
