Delegation of the Chinese National Textile and Clothing Council visits Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 2-6 May, the Uztekstilprom Association organized a visit of the delegation of the People’s Republic of China headed by the Vice-Chairman of the “Chinese National Textiles and Clothing Council” Mr. Duan Xiaoping. It was reported by the press service of the Uztekstilprom Association.

CNTAC is a coordinating structure responsible for developing programs and strategies for the development of the Chinese textile industry. The activities of the CNTAC are enshrined in the Constitution, relevant laws and administrative legal documents.

The main tasks of the CNTAC include the research, study, formulation and development of medium-term and long-term scientific and technological strategies for the development of the industry, the development and change of industrial standards, the organization of professional training courses for the improvement of professional skills of the industry, the implementation of programs of international technical and economic cooperation, etc. CNTAC focuses its services in 12 sectors, cotton, wool, silk, sheet fiber, knitting, fabric dyeing, dyeing-printing-finishing, home textiles, nonwovens, textiles industry, chemical fiber and textile machinery.

During the visit, on 6 May, a business forum for cooperation in the textile and garment and knitwear industry was organized, which was attended by over 18 managers and representatives of major companies-potential investors and buyers from China, as well as representatives of the Uztekstilprom Association, ministries, departments and domestic enterprises.

Within the framework of the forum, a presentation was made of the activities of the Uztekstilprom Association and the state of the textile industry in Uzbekistan. In addition, the Uzbek side provided detailed information about the textile activities of the Republic of Uzbekistan, favorable conditions created and created by the Government of Uzbekistan for foreign investors and successfully implemented and implemented large projects, as well as privileges and preferences provided for enterprises of the textile industry.

The Chinese side particularly noted the economic achievements of the Republic of Uzbekistan in recent years and the possibilities of attracting large companies of the PRC to the implementation of joint investment projects in the textile and garment and knitwear industry. At the same time, promising areas for the expansion of trade relations between domestic enterprises and Chinese companies were identified.

The parties were unanimous about the need for mutual participation in exhibitions and other events organized by both parties with the involvement of large enterprises of Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of China.
