Delegation of Malaysian Technology Development Corporation visits Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur organized a visit of the leadership of the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) to Uzbekistan from 27 April to 4 May 2019.

The visit was organized to discuss the allocation of financial and technical assistance funds to the state institutions of the republic, carrying out activities in the field of scientific research and commercialization of the results of the work.

Meetings were held with the leadership of the Ministry of Innovation Development, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the Ministry of Finance, as well as Tashkent State Technical University, higher educational institutions of Samarkand and Bukhara regions.

MTDC was founded in 1994 with the goal of developing and implementing innovative technological solutions (know-how) for the industrial sector, financing research projects in this area and conducting specialized trainings and seminars for government officials, including foreign countries.

During the visit of the Malaysian delegation, an agreement was reached on the allocation of places free of charge to representatives of Uzbekistan to participate in the seminar “Commercialization Ecosystem and Entrepreneurship Development Workshop” organized in Malaysia on 24-28 June 2019.

Also, with the relevant universities of the republic, prospects for cooperation in conducting joint scientific research were discussed with the possibility of introducing their results into the industrial sector and the allocation of MTDC funds for these purposes.
