Delegation of Kazakhstan held a number of meetings in Uzbekistan
During the meeting, representatives of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed issues of further development of cooperation in industrial cooperation, agro-industrial sector, military-technical, aerospace, transit and transport.
The parties considered the possibility of providing services by the Kazakhstan group of satellites for remote sensing of land and satellite communications.
Askar Mamin during the meeting noted that the trade turnover between the two countries in January-September 2017 grew by 30% and reached US$ 1.5 billion. In his opinion, by the end of this year the trade turnover will make US$ 2 billion.
Mamin stressed that by 2020, taking into account the potential, the volume of mutual trade should be increased to US$5 billion.
The sides discussed issues of realizing the existing potential of regional and cross-border cooperation, noting that this is an important area of bilateral cooperation.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov supported the idea of holding a Forum for Interregional Cooperation. This forum should become a foundation for further development of trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
It was noted that the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan will be held in 2018, which will demonstrate the brotherly nature of the historical heritage and the cultural unity of the two countries.
The delegation of Kazakhstan was also received by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Achil Ramatov.
Vice Premiers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed issues of developing trade and economic relations and increasing the volume of mutual trade, as well as expanding the range of traded goods.
The parties noted that countries have established trading houses in the spheres of food products, chemistry and petrochemistry. Work is underway to establish trading houses in the machine building and pharmaceutical industries.
