Delegation of FNPR pays visit to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 September 2017, a delegation of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) led by its chairman Mikhail Shmakov arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.

The purpose of the visit is further development of mutually beneficial ties between the trade union centers of Russia and Uzbekistan based on the priority tasks for further strengthening of international cooperation.

During the visit, members of the delegation received information with the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in various spheres, and their results, the priority directions of the trade unions’ activities, the press service of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan said.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov and held a meeting at the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan with the trade union of the country.

During the meeting with the activists of the trade unions, special focus was paid on protecting the socio-economic interests and labor rights of citizens, employment, labor protection, and the development of social partnership in the world of work.

They highly appreciated the constructive social dialogue established in Uzbekistan between the state, employers and trade unions, responsible and balanced approach of Uzbekistan to its international obligations in the world of work.

The participants exchanged views on topical issues of the development of bilateral relations between the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia. In particular, issues such as the creation of a trade union of labor migrants of Uzbekistan in Russia or their admission to the trade unions of the relevant industries, the creation of a branch of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations of the FNPR in Tashkent, the resumption of the practice of organizing weekly training courses at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations for Uzbekistan were discussed at the meeting.

Considering the importance of bilateral relations, between the trade unions of Russia and Uzbekistan in the context of globalization of the economy and taking into account the expediency of strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with the FNPR, an Agreement on Cooperation between the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021 was signed.
