Defense ministries of Uzbekistan and Spain establish cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Defense of Spain hosted the signing ceremony of the Spanish part of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the defense department of Uzbekistan, Dunyo news agency reported.

On behalf of the Spanish side, the document was signed by Minister of Defense Margarita Robles, Uzbek diplomats took part in the event.

During the talks held on the same day, the main results of the processes of democratization and modernization, as well as the goals and objectives of reforming the Constitution of Uzbekistan, were brought to the attention of the minister.

For her part, Margarita Robles stressed that, thanks to regular dialogue at various levels and directions, in recent years, Uzbek-Spanish relations have shown positive development dynamics.

She highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s many years of support for international efforts to stabilize Afghanistan and readiness to assist in the economic recovery of this country and its integration into the Central Asian region, adding that she fully supports the efforts of the head of state to ensure peace in the region and the progressive development of Uzbekistan.
