Decision Time for Transit of Special Cargo and Military Contingents Reduced

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law introducing amendments and additions to several existing legislative acts.

The legislation aims to expand the possibilities for the transit of special cargo and military contingents, as well as to strengthen the legal framework for regulating the protection of the population and territories in emergency situations.

Under the new provisions, a decision on granting or refusing a transit permit must be made within twenty days from the date the relevant application is received. If additional study, verification, or the submission of further documents is required, the review period may be extended by up to ten more days.

The law also clarifies the composition of the forces responsible for emergency response, which include military personnel, specialized fire and rescue units of the authorized state body, as well as structures and subdivisions of republican executive authorities and other organizations within the State Emergency System.

The law comes into force on the day of its official publication.
