Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Within the framework of the Year of Kazakhstan, the Days of Kazakh Medicine are held in the capital in Uzbekistan. In addition to authorized representatives of the Ministry of Health, heads and employees of medical institutions, a delegation led by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Medical Sciences Yelzhan Birtanov also takes part in the events.

The announcement of 2018 in Kazakhstan as the Year of Uzbekistan has given new pace, quality and content to bilateral relations. As a result, consistent cooperation is being carried out with a neighboring country in the fields of medicine, culture, art, literature, science, tourism and others. As a logical continuation of such friendly events, 2019 has been declared the Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan.

In August of this year, a delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited our country. During the meeting with the Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov, issues of primary health care, compulsory health insurance, digitalization of health care and the development of medical tourism were discussed in detail. Moreover, during the dialogue, the parties agreed to hold Days of Kazakh medicine in Uzbekistan in November as part of the Year of Kazakhstan in our country.

In the framework of cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare, certain agreements were reached on the development of the pharmaceutical industry. The Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan is developing a project “Production of Uzbek pharmaceutical products in Kazakhstan on an in-bulk basis”. In addition, the domestic private enterprise "Dentafill plyus" signed a memorandum of cooperation with the administration of the industrial economic zone of Kazakhstan "Antustik".

A number of programs for doctors and students of higher medical educational institutions are jointly implemented annually. As part of the exchange of experience, mutual study tours are organized with the participation of highly qualified medical specialists.

Within the framework of the Days of Kazakhstani medicine, presentations are organized by the delegation of this country on ongoing reforms in the healthcare sector. The delegation included specialists in the field of neurosurgery, pediatric cardiac surgery, gynecology, neurology, reproductology, urology, traumatology and orthopedics, therapy and cell technology, nuclear medicine and radiation diagnostics, kidney and liver transplantation and a number of other areas, as well as heads of medical higher educational institutions, pharmaceutical companies.

The stands reflecting the reforms implemented in our country in the field of medicine, the activities and achievements of higher medical educational institutions and republican specialized scientific and practical medical centers make a deep impression on the guests.

Within the framework of the event, by order of the Minister of Health of our country Alisher Shadmanov, for the contribution to the further development of cooperation between the two countries, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Medical Sciences Yelzhan Birtanov was awarded the badge "Excellence in Healthcare of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
