Dangerous Criminal Nicknamed “Grjaz” Apprehended in Istanbul and Extradited to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service, and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul conducted a joint special operation resulting in the arrest and repatriation of a dangerous criminal.

On 5 December 2025, Y.M., born in 1993 and known in criminal circles by the nickname “Grjaz” (“Dirt”), was extradited to Uzbekistan.

According to law enforcement authorities, the detainee led a criminal group and committed a series of serious crimes within the republic. In 2023, he was placed on the wanted list by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yashnabad District Department of Internal Affairs.

The suspect faces multiple charges under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including threats of murder, robbery committed by an organized group, extortion on a particularly large scale, intentional destruction or damage to property, and the organization of a criminal community.

Y.M. has been handed over to investigative authorities for further procedural actions. He faces a lengthy prison sentence.
