Customs Post “Gishtkuprik” to Be Transformed into an Intelligent Hub

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, Akmalhuja Mavlonov, Chairman of the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, visited the “Gishtkuprik” customs post, where large-scale reconstruction is underway.

The facility spans nine hectares and is planned to be transformed from a conventional post into an intelligent customs hub, featuring modern services and increased processing capacity.

For individual travelers, the familiar two-lane system — “green” and “red” — has been maintained and is now being applied to passenger vehicles as well.

A new “Z Portal” scanning complex has been installed for passenger vehicles, representing a unique solution not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire region.

To reduce queues, 16 vehicle lanes have been organized, with separate lanes designated for buses. Once reconstruction is complete, more than 1,500 vehicles and over 50,000 passengers will be able to pass through the post daily.

Special attention has been given to “green energy” use: installed solar panels supply electricity to the facility while simultaneously functioning as car shelters.

During reconstruction, existing trees have been preserved, and new landscaping work has taken their locations into account. In the current autumn season, about 2,000 additional seedlings have been planted, significantly enhancing the facility’s environment and creating a comfortable space for visitors.
