Customs officers seize over 22,000 units of pyrotechnics

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Customs officers of Uzbekistan prevented 43 attempts of illegal important and movement of pyrotechnics in the country in the past period of 2013.

The press service of the State Customs Committee said that some 22,000 units of fireworks were seized in the result.

The customs officers detained citizen of Tajikistan A. Rajapov with 126 units of pyrotechnics in Karakalpakstan. He was traveling on train from Moscow to Kulyab. The pyrotechnics were not declared.

The passenger of Beinau-Kungirat train O. Rajapova was transporting 32 units of pyrotechnics without declaring them.

The officers also seized fireworks from the passenger E.Sanakulova in the same region.

The customs officers from Tashkent region prevented attempt to smuggle 156 units of pyrotechnics to Uzbekistan from neighboring states. A. Yunusov was detained with the pyrotechnics.

In Kashkadarya region, the customs officers seized 45 units of pyrotechnics from citizen of Tajikistan N. Toshhonva, who was traveling from Moscow to Kulyab on train.

The committee said that investigations are underway on these cases.
