Criminal Case Opened Over Poisoning of Children in Kindergartens — Ferghana Police

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A criminal case has been opened in Ferghana Region following the mass poisoning of children in state-run preschools.

On 21 February 2026, the duty unit of the Ferghana City Department of Internal Affairs received reports that children from kindergartens No. 58, No. 2, and No. 61 had been hospitalized at the Infectious Diseases Hospital with high fever, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

The situation is being closely monitored by the Ferghana Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other relevant authorities.

The Ferghana City Department of Internal Affairs has initiated a criminal case under Article 257¹ of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Immediate investigative actions are underway, and all necessary examinations have been commissioned to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.
