Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 March, at about 5:30 pm, in Mirabad district on Shakhrisabz street, the fact of intentional arson of cars belonging to 36-year-old Camila I. Mercedes-Benz GLS300 (license plate number 01 Y 549 HB) and BMW X5 (license plate number 01 F 701 XA) was recorded.

The amount of property damage was tentatively estimated at US$225,000. At the moment, an investigation is underway, details of what happened are being ascertained, measures are being taken to establish the identity of the person who committed the arson, the victim and the witnesses are being interviewed.

A criminal case has been instituted on this fact in accordance with paragraph “c” of the second part of Article 173 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (“Deliberate destruction or damage to property with causing major damage”).

In such cases, the law envisages a fine of seventy-five to one hundred basic calculation units or compulsory community service from three hundred to three hundred and sixty hours or correctional labor from two to three years or restriction of liberty from one year to three years or imprisonment up to three years.
