Criminal Case Opened in Kyiv Over Possible Exploitation of 13 Uzbek Citizens
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine has reported intervention following media reports about the alleged exploitation of 13 Uzbek citizens in a greenhouse in Kyiv Oblast.
According to the embassy, officials promptly visited the site, assessed the health of all individuals, and transferred them to a local hospital in Kyiv Oblast for medical examination and necessary treatment.
The embassy has taken full control of the situation and is taking measures to repatriate the Uzbek citizens. Consular and legal assistance has been requested through official notes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General. A criminal case has been opened, and the suspects are under judicial proceedings.
Efforts are ongoing to protect the rights and interests of the Uzbek citizens, provide them with comprehensive support, and restore their legal rights.
Meanwhile, the embassy advises Uzbek nationals to refrain from traveling to Ukraine until the situation stabilizes.
