Criminal case opened against man, who hanged young man by his hands in Karakalpakstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Karakalpakstan opened a criminal case against a man, who hanged a young man suspected in theft by his hands to the gate of the market in Beruniy district of Karakalpakstan.

On 2 August, a video was published on social networks, in Beruniy sellers hanged a young man suspected in theft, by his arms to the gate of Shobboz market in the Beruni district.

The incident occurred on 1 August. According to the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Karakalpakstan, a criminal case on this incident was opened under Article 229 (arbitrariness, punishment is a fine of up to 50 minimum wages or compulsory public work for up to 300 hours, or correctional labor up to 2 years).

Law enforcement authorities also conduct investigative actions, during which the boy’s involvement in theft will also be checked.
