Criminal case instituted on violation of quarantine rules

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 7 April 2020, 44-year-old Jaloliddin A., a resident of Sharof Rashidovsky district, called the hot number of the Koronavirus operational headquarters established on the basis of the Situations Department of Jizzakh region and informed the duty officer that the regional prosecutor and his family is infected with a coronavirus infection, and that one of the doctors of the private clinic “Doctor-A”, who carried out a medical examination of the latter, is still taking patients and providing them with medical care, in connection with which he asked to take appropriate measures regarding this doctor, otherwise he will inform the appropriate authorities about this and recorded the conversation with the duty officer on his mobile phone.

Not limited to this, Jaloliddin A. called the Sanitary and Epidemiological Center of Jizzakh region and presented the same information to the doctor on duty and the nurse and indicated that appropriate measures should be taken against the doctor, otherwise he threatened to spread the conversation between them on the Internet.

After that, Jaloliddin A. distributed two audio recordings on the Telegram social network, with information that was untrue.

On this fact, the Investigation Department at the Sharof Rashidovsky District Department of the Interior initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 2445 of the Criminal Code (Dissemination of untrue information on the spread of quarantine and other infections dangerous to humans). Jaloliddin A. was involved as a suspect and detained in the prescribed manner.

The preliminary investigation in this case continues.
