Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Robert Koch Institute (Germany) will cooperate in such areas as the preparation of Clinical Protocols based on evidence-based medicine.
This work is of particular importance now for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, when the use of certain drugs must be checked against the international experience accumulated by specialists from different countries over the months of the pandemic and accumulated in the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO).
The similarity of this point of view was highlighted during a videoconference held in early September at the initiative of the German Robert Koch Institute for specialists of the National Chamber. The online discussion became part of a cycle of partnership meetings between the two parties, which began on 13 May 2019.
As noted by the representative of the Institute. R. Koch Evgenia Boklage, under the auspices of this authoritative research institution, a network of infectious diseases clinics in Germany is actively working. The National Chamber has been invited to cooperate with this network, which will help the productive work on the Interim Clinical Guidelines for COVID-19, taking into account the experience of German specialists, as well as their wide range of professional contacts. Of course, the recommendations that are accumulated in the course of the pandemic by the German Institute. Koch, are reflected in the documents of the World Health Organization, which are guided by doctors in the fight against the pandemic in different countries of the world.
The experience of Uzbekistan, those Interim Guidelines for the Management of Patients Infected with COVID-19, which are currently used in the country, were of interest to the German videoconference participants Björn Jensen and Timo Wulff. Representing clinics of Dusseldorf and Frankfurt universities, they recently visited Uzbekistan and now shared their experience in managing patients with COVID-19. Their questions during the videoconference related to the frequency of use of various drugs, the doses prescribed, taking into account the characteristics of the patients while taking into account the WHO recommendations. The time allocated for the videoconference did not contain all the questions of the participants to each other, it was decided to continue the dialogue of the parties with an expanded composition of participants.
Given the current realities, the parties emphasized the need to exchange views for the adoption of those clinical guidelines and protocols that, due to their evidence-based medicine, work best for the benefit of patients. Joint work in this direction will continue.
Development of "modern clinical guidelines and protocols, quality standards for diagnosis and treatment, as well as standards of material and technical equipment, monitoring their timely implementation" is one of the main tasks of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of the Republic of Uzbekistan, based on the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to introduce an innovative model of healthcare management in the Republic of Uzbekistan" (No. PP-3894 of 2.08.2018).
In order to implement this task, set before the new state structure by the head of state, on 23 December 2019, the Ministry of Health and the National Chamber of Innovative Health issued a Joint Resolution (registration number 59 from 23 December 2019), which approved the procedure for organizing the development of National Clinical Protocols (NKP).
