Counterfeit IMUDON Trademark Case Fined 82 Million Soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A violator of the IMUDON/ИМУДОН trademark rights was fined 82 million soums for producing counterfeit products, the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan reported.

Such goods pose risks not only to the economy but also to consumer health, particularly in food, pharmaceutical, and perfumery sectors.

The Ministry reviewed a complaint from the trademark owner, Abbot Products Operations AG, regarding violations by A.P. LLC. The investigation found that the company produced 31,159 units under the brand name “IMUDON NEST,” phonetically similar to the original trademark.

As a result, A.P. LLC was fined an amount exceeding the base penalty by 200 times and was ordered to cease all actions violating the IMUDON/ИМУДОН trademark rights.

The decision underscores the importance of intellectual property protection and controlling the production of goods that directly impact citizens’ health and safety.
