Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the delegation of Cotton Campaign global coalition visits Uzbekistan from 26 January to 5 February.

It will visit textile enterprises and become acquainted with conditions created for workers.

On 29 January, the delegation visited Global Textile Group Ltd. in Bektemir district. The head of the Global Textile Group, M. Razakov, informed about the principles and methods of operation of Fergana Global Textile cotton-textile cluster in Kushtepa district of Fergana region.

The guests were interested in monitoring of forced labor, in particular, the mechanization of agricultural work (the use of agricultural machinery), the observance of labor standards between clusters and farms, the participation of independent experts in monitoring the cotton harvest 2019.

Issues related to the relationship between the organizers of clusters and local government bodies (khokimiyats), ongoing reforms in the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan were also discussed.

Cotton Campaign representatives plan to visit the textile complex and Fergana Global Textile cotton cluster.
