Cooperation with UNDESA in Digital Government Strengthens
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Olimjon Umarov held a meeting with Vincenzo Aquaro, Chief of the Digital Government Branch of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).
The talks focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of digitalization of public services, including improvements in service delivery through electronic platforms, interagency integration, the development of digital infrastructure, and the introduction of artificial intelligence into administrative processes.
A presentation was given on the capabilities of the National e-Participation Portal (muloqot.gov.uz), which creates new opportunities for citizens to take part in public discussions, submit proposals, and review initiatives.
Vincenzo Aquaro praised the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, emphasizing that the digital transformation of government bodies is taking place in line with a policy of openness.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize a seminar for specialists from government agencies and organizations on improving the quality of public services using the UN E-Government Index methodology, as well as to implement pilot projects in state structures based on this methodology.
