Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 October 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov met in Riga with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Andris Pelshem.

During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on the prospects for developing a comprehensive partnership between Uzbekistan and Latvia, including in the field of intensifying political dialogue, enhancing trade, investment and technological cooperation, as well as strengthening people-to-people ties through joint promoting cultural and humanitarian programs.

The Secretary of State announced Latvia’s support for large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan in the field of public administration and economic liberalization. The readiness of the Latvian side to share significant experience in the field of reform was confirmed.

It was emphasized that Latvia, as a member of the European Union, intends to continue to promote the expansion of mutually beneficial partnership between the EU and Central Asian states, including Uzbekistan.
