Cooperation between the Tashkent International Arbitration Center and the Permanent Court of Arbitration discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cooperation between the Tashkent International Arbitration Center (TIAC) at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Permanent Court of Arbitration was discussed in The Hague.

A delegation from Uzbekistan led by Deputy Justice Minister Khudoyar Meliyev met with the Secretary General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PPTS), Hugo Siblez.

The Permanent Court of Arbitration was established in 1899 by decision of the First Hague Peace Conference. The Chamber accepts for consideration both claims on interstate disputes, and claims of private organizations of an international character.

During the meeting, TIAC Director Diana Baizakova, and representatives of the PCTA discussed the following issues of cooperation between TIAC and PCA:

- Consolidation of the services of arbitration centers, when the users of arbitration are offered a standard arbitration clause, the choice of arbitration centers;

- Using the technical capabilities of the Tashkent International Arbitration Center (TIAC) ​​at the Chamber of Commerce for arbitration hearings, when parties from the CIS region choose arbitration rules and services of the Permanent Court of Arbitration;

- Consultations regarding the lists of arbitrators;

- The signing of a cooperation agreement, which includes the above points and the experts of the Permanent Chamber of the Arbitration Court webinars for students of the Tashkent International Arbitration Center (TIAC) at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

During the discussion, the Permanent Chamber expressed its willingness to cooperate and to implement the above measures.
