Consumers do not pay for checking old electricity meters
In January 2018, the new rules for use of electrical energy were adopted. They said that due to the enterprises of territorial electric grids, only modern metering devices are checked. That is, integrated into automated systems for monitoring and accounting for electrical energy (AMR).
The document said that the verification of metering devices, which do not meet modern requirements, are paid by the consumer (the owner) independently.
According to the new amendments, periodic and unscheduled verification of any metering devices is carried out at the expense of enterprises of territorial electric networks.
The government excluded from the provision all the norms that referred to the payment for it by the consumer. At the same time, the consumer will have to pay only when the meter is damaged due to the fault of the consumer.
The period of periodic checks of the meters installed in the framework of the AMR system is 10 years. The verification period of the remaining devices, as before, is 4 years.
