Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The legal services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Sultanate of Oman held consultations on an inventory and improvement of the legal framework for bilateral cooperation via videoconference, Dunyo news agency reported.

The foreign side was led by the head of the department for bilateral agreements of the Treaty and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Yahya bin Ahmad al-Dagiyishi.

The experts carried out an inventory of the signed bilateral documents, reviewed the current state of the legal framework, and also discussed the progress in working out the draft documents that are under consideration by the parties.

During the consultations, the parties agreed to accelerate the elaboration of draft intergovernmental agreements on cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in customs affairs and an interdepartmental memorandum in the field of employment and development of labor resources in order to prepare them for signing during the upcoming meeting of the Uzbek-Omani intergovernmental commission on trade and economic issues. which is scheduled for October.

An agreement was reached to form a working group of the parties with the participation of representatives of the involved ministries and departments of the two countries to promptly resolve these issues.

There was also an exchange of information on the participation of the parties in the international rule-making process.
