Construction Output in Uzbekistan Exceeds 137 Trillion Soums in First Half of 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January–June 2025, the total volume of construction work completed in Uzbekistan amounted to 137.6 trillion soums, reflecting a 10.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Building construction remained the dominant segment, accounting for 69% of the total, with a 3.1% year-on-year increase. Civil engineering works represented 20.9% of the total and saw a 25.7% rise. Specialized construction activities made up 10.1%, registering a significant 49% growth compared to the previous year.
Large construction companies completed projects worth 30.8 trillion soums, an increase of 14.7% from the previous year. Their share in total construction output rose to 22.4%, up by 0.8 percentage points.
Small enterprises and microfirms contributed 52.1% of the total output, amounting to 71.6 trillion soums, which is 8.1% higher year-on-year.
The informal sector remains a major contributor, accounting for 25.5% or 35.1 trillion soums, up by 13.1% compared to the same period in 2024.
The highest growth in construction output by large companies was recorded in Andijan Region (+106.2%), Tashkent Region (+95.3%), and Jizzakh Region (+72.7%).
