Condor Energies Completes First Horizontal Well at Andakli Field

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Canadian energy transition company Condor Energies Inc. has reached the target depth of its first horizontal well at the Andakli field, Andakli-23 (A-23), drilling through Jurassic carbonate formations.

The A-23 well reached a total depth of 3,775 meters, including a 1,007-meter horizontal section. The casing string was run on the rig, with initial gas and drilling fluid inflows observed at the surface. Flow testing is planned after rig demobilization, with the well expected to enter production in December 2025.

Meanwhile, two workovers in a newly discovered gas zone of the deep Jurassic shales at A-23 increased average daily gas and condensate production to 11,844 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) over the past three days, up from 9,978 boepd in Q3 2025.

Condor Energies plans to drill a second horizontal well targeting a different carbonate reservoir currently produced by vertical wells, with a projected horizontal section of up to 1,500 meters.

The A-23 pilot vertical well enabled log analysis of the deep Jurassic sand-shale sequence, identifying reservoirs of medium to good quality with 9–13% visual porosity. Similar prospects were also noted at the nearby North Syuzma field.

North Syuzma-01 workover involved perforating a 3.1-meter sandstone section with 18% porosity, yielding gas flows of 7.6–11.4 million cubic feet per day, condensate 58–66 barrels per day, and water 4–58 barrels per day. North Syuzma-12 produced 4.0–6.6 million cubic feet per day of gas, 12–20 barrels per day of condensate, and 291–609 barrels per day of water, with the higher water levels attributed to fluid carryover expected to decline during production.

Condor Energies President and CEO Don Streu said the company has drilled the longest horizontal well in Uzbekistan’s history and employed new technologies, including active geosteering, to maximize recovery.

He added that the A-23 pilot well and North Syuzma workovers demonstrate significant potential for increased gas and condensate production, with up to 12 new wells planned for 2026.
