Competition Committee Warns of Scammers Impersonating Uzum Nasiya

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan has warned citizens about cases of fraud involving the Uzum Nasiya service.

According to the committee, fraudsters have been calling from the number ****21242, claiming that the recipient has won household appliances. Under this pretext, they ask victims to undergo “identification” and provide an SMS code sent to their phone.

In reality, the scammers are using the provided codes to register urgent payment contracts in the victims’ names, while no promised prizes are actually awarded.

In response, the committee has sent official notices to SHAFFOF-MOLIYA LLC, UZUM MARKET LLC, and the Central Bank of Uzbekistan to help prevent remote fraud, ensure information system security, eliminate violations, and avoid similar incidents in the future.

Citizens are urged not to trust unknown callers, not to share SMS codes, personal data, or identification details, and to verify the reliability of platforms before registration.

The committee calls on the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities.
