Competition Committee Identifies Violations at “Korzinka” Stores Following Customer Complaints

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Competition Committee of Uzbekistan continues to actively review citizen complaints submitted via social media regarding the operations of Anglesey Food and the “Korzinka” retail chain. Complaints primarily concerned product and vegetable quality, the shopping process, cashback accrual, discrepancies between shelf and checkout prices, and order service issues.

One investigated case involved a customer at the Korzinka branch in Yangihayot district regarding discrepancies in prices and promotions. The inspection revealed that the customer was not provided with complete information about a discount on Chortoq water, leading to problems at the checkout. Store staff were given strict instructions to accurately display prices based on packaging and promotional offers, maintain up-to-date price tags, and fully inform customers.

Another case concerned an employee in the salad department who behaved rudely, inaccurately weighed products, and refused to serve a customer again. Disciplinary measures were applied to the employee, and staff received guidance to prevent similar violations.

At the Korzinka branch in Asaka, a customer was charged twice for their purchases due to a technical scanning error. The employee received a warning according to internal store rules, and the overcharged amount was fully refunded.

Additional complaints included double payment for coffee and incorrect charges for cheese. Checks confirmed both incidents, leading to cashier retraining and refunds with formal apologies to affected customers.

In another instance, a trainee cashier overcharged a customer by approximately 48,000 sums. The management conducted corrective discussions, and the excess amount was fully returned.

It is noteworthy that in 2025 the Competition Committee processed about 1,500 complaints via social media across various categories, taking measures to protect consumer rights and improve service quality within the Korzinka network.
