Competition Committee Identifies Advertising Violations in Seven Dietary Supplements
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Competition Committee has identified several new violations of advertising legislation in the promotion of dietary supplements, the press service of the agency reported.
During social media monitoring, officials discovered unsubstantiated claims regarding the therapeutic effects of these products. In their advertisements, sellers referred to consumer comments allegedly describing health improvements after using the supplements.
As a result of inspections, legal measures were taken against violations involving seven supplements: Stop Diabet, Effect Herbals, Fito Diabetic, Biomalham, Gemopro, Gemmoroid Plus, and Visu Caps.
At the request of the oversight body, the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee reviewed the supplements’ instructions and concluded that they “do not correspond to the properties claimed in advertisements.”
The Competition Committee urged citizens to carefully study the composition of products before purchase, check for the necessary certifications, and use supplements only after consulting a doctor.
