Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) –– The Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea is actively working in the framework of the public movement “Kindness and Support” initiated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In particular, with the assistance of compatriots living in South Korea, as well as South Korean friends, as of 15 May 2020, humanitarian aid was attracted in the amount of about 35.5 million Korean won (28 thousand 500 dollars), Dunyo reported.
Today, these funds have been transferred to the account of the Charity and Health of Uzbekistan Public Fund.
Our fellow citizens who are currently studying, living and working outside the republic, did not stand aside and, based on their capabilities, provided free help, thereby proving once again their love for the motherland.
While collecting the next humanitarian aid, South Korean friends and Avazbek Abduvohidov, an Uzbek blogger living in the Republic of Korea, made a great contribution.
The compatriots expressed a desire to send the charitable funds collected in the holy month of Ramadan to Syrdarya region for material and moral support of the flood-affected population, who suffered from the flood as a result of the breakthrough of the dam of the Sardoba reservoir.
First aid of compatriots worth more than 18.5 thousand dollars was transferred to the account of the Public Fund “Charity and Health of Uzbekistan” on 4 May.
