Commander of the National Guard Elected as Head of Law Enforcement Hand-to-Hand Combat Federation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Bahodir Tashmatov, Commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has been elected Chairman of the Federation of Hand-to-Hand Combat for the country’s law enforcement agencies.

The decision was made at an extraordinary federation conference, which focused on forming the organization’s leadership.

During the vote, delegates unanimously supported Colonel-General Bahodir Tashmatov’s candidacy for the position of Chairman of the Law Enforcement Hand-to-Hand Combat Federation of Uzbekistan.

The conference also outlined key practical priorities for the further development of hand-to-hand combat. Among these goals are the establishment of at least two new sections of the sport in districts where none currently exist, increasing youth participation in regular sports activities, identifying promising athletes, and guiding their professional development.

Special attention was given to protecting young athletes from the influence of criminal groups, establishing systematic work with them, and supporting their employment after ending their sports careers. Priority measures include retraining athletes and involving them as coaches and referees.

Additionally, the conference set objectives for recruiting talented hand-to-hand combat athletes into the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, organizing regular competitions, and ensuring proper recognition and rewards for athletes who achieve high results.

It is worth noting that on 28 January of this year, by presidential decree, Bahodir Khamidovich Tashmatov was appointed Commander of the National Guard. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President.
