Collaboration is being established with the Islamic Culture Center of Madrid

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Deputy Director of the Center for Islamic Culture of Madrid, Hussam Siddik Khuja, visited Uzbekistan to discuss issues of establishing contacts with relevant departments of the republic, as well as organize events with the Center to recognize the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture Bukhara city is the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2020, Dunyo reported.

Founded in 1992, the Madrid Islamic Culture Center is the largest of its kind in Europe. The Center has a mosque, which was built on the basis of the architecture of the mosque of Cordoba - one of the oldest and most famous mosques in Spain. The Center includes a library, a kindergarten, a school of Arabic language and Islamic culture, Spanish courses for foreigners, a conference hall for 500 people, an art museum, sports sections, etc.

During the visit, Hussam Siddik Khuja met with the Deputy Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Inomov and the Director of the International Research Center named after Imam Bukhory by Shovosil Ziyodov.

During the meetings, the guest was presented with information on reforms in the field of religion in Uzbekistan and measures taken to create favorable conditions for free religion, as well as the study of traditional Islam, including the established scientific and educational centers.

The guest praised the efforts of Uzbekistan to study the cultural and civilizational heritage and religious and philosophical significance of Islam, as well as important steps taken to promote and disseminate the humanistic ideas of religion, which resulted in the creation of the Center for Islamic Civilization, the International Centers named after Imam Bukhari and Imam Termizi.

An interest was expressed in establishing contacts and implementing joint projects with the relevant departments of Uzbekistan, both in the field of the dissemination of humanistic ideas of traditional Islam, and in the implementation of scientific work in the field of its study.

Following the meetings, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the International Research Center named after Imam Bukhari and the Center for Islamic Culture of Madrid, and an agreement was reached with the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan on the exchange of specialists in the study of Islam and the implementation of joint projects.
