Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Work has begun in Uzbekistan to create a cluster for the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants. The Navoi branch of the Academy of Sciences organized the supply and sowing of seeds of medicinal plants in household plots of residents of remote villages of the Nurata district, Dunyo reported with reference to the press service of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
Young scientists constantly monitor the growth and development of plants. Inspired by the positive results, they prepared a proposal to create a cluster at the Navoi branch of the Academy of Sciences for the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants. According to the idea, the organization of the cluster will take place in two stages.
The report also notes that the scientists of the department will prepare and provide residents with teaching aids and instructions for planting and caring for medicinal plants, and at the same time they will constantly monitor the state of affairs, both by video and on site, to give the necessary recommendations.
It is planned to collect 200 tons of Jerusalem artichoke, 15 - amaranth, 10 - sesame, 5 - chernushka, 4.8 - anise and 2.5 - marigold. Half of the harvest is processed and converted into finished products.
The main goal of creating a cluster for the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants is to supply the consumer with finished processed products. The implementation of the plan will make it possible to contribute to the economic development of the country and help the rural population to receive additional income from their sites. Moreover, all decisions will be made on the basis of a scientific approach, the report said.
