Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Citigroup has officially announced the opening of its representative office in Uzbekistan, according to a statement published on the corporation’s LinkedIn page.

Grant Carson, a company representative, noted that although Citigroup has been supporting its clients in Uzbekistan for over two decades, the current phase of economic growth and ongoing reforms has created favorable conditions for expanding its presence in the local market.

He emphasized that the opening of a representative office marks a new chapter for Citigroup, enabling the company to be closer to its clients and partners and support their access to global markets.

Carson also expressed admiration for the energy, vision, and potential he observed during meetings with government officials and local clients, adding that Citigroup remains committed to supporting both domestic and international customers in launching new projects in Uzbekistan.

Earlier, on 10 July, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan officially accredited the representative office of Citibank AS, a Turkish subsidiary of Citigroup.

The license has been issued for a three-year period and is valid until 9 July 2028. Abbos Jurabayev has been appointed as the head of the representative office.
