CIS intelligence bodies hold meeting in Russia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tenth meeting of the heads of security and intelligence bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held in Moscow, Russia, on 2-4 September 2009.

Representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldavia, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan participated at the meeting.

Participants discussed wide range of issues and determine action plan for perspective. In particular, they considered information exchange, joint antiterrorism activity and work during economic crisis.

Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev received representatives of the CIS security and intelligence representatives. He said that currently threats and challenges cannot be solve by one state.

Medvedev said terrorism, extremism, including political and religious, trans-border crime, drug business and other challenges are among main threats.
