Chlorine leak in Tashkent: one dead, 18 injured

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As a result of a chlorine leak at one of Tashkent’s enterprises, one person was killed and 18 others were injured. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan.

The incident occurred at about 2:30 on 14 July on the territory of the Blu Marmar enterprise in Bektemir district of Tashkent.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the leakage of chlorine occurred due to the depressurization of the container.

As a result, 1 person was killed and 18 people with signs of poisoning with chlorine vapor were hospitalized in medical institutions of the Center for Emergency Medical Care.

At 10:30, 13 workers were released home due to improved health status.

On the fact of the incident, pre-investigation measures are now under way.
