Chinese Yaxing Guoji Maoyi to Invest US$28 Million in Electric Scooter Production in Samarkand Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chinese company Yaxing Guoji Maoyi plans to implement a major investment project worth US$28 million in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand region.
According to the regional administration, the production facility will be established in the Akdarya district.
The project envisions manufacturing electric scooters with two, three, and four wheels, as well as solar-powered streetlights. In addition, the investors plan to launch production of non-alcoholic beverages and laundry detergent.
The first phase, valued at US$16.5 million, is scheduled for launch in February 2026 and is expected to create around 40 new jobs.
Governor of Samarkand region Adiz Boboev held talks with the company’s leadership and instructed road services to promptly begin construction of a new road to the Dakhbed area, where a branch of the Urgut Free Economic Zone is located.
He also assured investors that the regional administration stands ready to provide comprehensive support to ensure the project’s successful implementation.
