Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 March, at the invitation of the Chinese side, Minister of Health A.K. Shadmanov, First Deputy Minister B. Yusupaliev and specialists from the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare, the Research Institute of Virology and other competent authorities participated in a video conference, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Committee on Health and the Main Customs Administration of the PRC, where Chinese experts shared their experience in the fight against the new coronavirus COVID-19 with representatives from 19 countries of the European Union Sia and South Asia.

Chinese experts familiarized colleagues from different countries with the anti-epidemic situation in the country, emphasizing that under the leadership of Chairman Xi Jinping, the government and people of China have taken comprehensive and most stringent preventive and control measures.

At the moment, there is a consistent improvement in the situation, production activities and the life of the population are returning to normal. Adhering to the concept of a community of the common destiny of mankind, in the spirit of openness, transparency and responsibility, China is actively conducting international cooperation to prevent and control the epidemic, and is ready to work together with the countries of the region to ensure global security in the field of public health.

Director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of China, Academician of Sciences Gao Fu, Chief Specialist in Epidemiology of the Wu Tsunyu Center, Chief Physician of the Department of Pulmonology at Beijing University Hospital No. 1 and Wang Guangfa, and a specialist from the General Administration of Customs presented in detail the trend and distribution features of COVID-19, shared experience of the country in the prevention and localization of the epidemic, in the treatment of the disease and the implementation of customs quarantine work, and answered over 80 questions from participants.

The representatives of the Uzbek side praised the measures taken by China to prevent and control the epidemic, as well as the great contribution that China made to global public health, thanked the Chinese side for the timely holding of this video conference, which is important for establishing anti-epidemic work in Uzbekistan, and expressed their sincere desire to further strengthen joint work with China in order to achieve a common victory in the fight against the COVID-19 virus.

The videoconference was also attended by the Advisor of the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Zhang Wenchuan.
