Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Chinese company is set to implement an US$80 million glass production project in the Kashkadarya region, expected to create 600 permanent jobs.
According to the regional administration’s press service, Governor Murotjon Azimov held talks with foreign investors on industrial development and the establishment of new production capacities.
The investment project will be carried out in two stages. A factory complex covering 50,000 square meters will be built on a 10-hectare site, alongside a quartz sand enrichment facility on an additional 2,000 square meters. The total investment will amount to US$80 million.
Once operational, the plant will be able to produce up to 300,000 tons of glass products per month. Most of the output will meet domestic demand, while part will be exported to Central Asian countries and Afghanistan.
