Children in Uzbekistan to be vaccinated against pneumococcal vaccine

From 2 November, the vaccine against pneumococcal vaccine Prevenar 13 for the children at the age of 2, 3 and 12 months was included to the national calendar of preventive vaccinations of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Health Ministry said.

A vaccine against pneumococcal infection is well tolerated and it is safe and produces an immune response for 10 years.

Vaccine safety is guaranteed by WHO and the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan. Vaccination is free of charge.
