Chairperson of the Uzbek Senate Meets Secretary-General of the Turkic Parliamentary Assembly

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 December, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, held a meeting with Ramil Hasan, Secretary-General of the Turkic Parliamentary Assembly (TurkPA).

During the discussion, the parties explored prospects for further expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and TurkPA, as well as engagement within the Organization of Turkic States and other specialized institutions of the Turkic world.

The exchange of views also covered Uzbekistan’s participation in the international organization TÜRKSOY, which focuses on preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Turkic-speaking peoples.

Particular attention was given to the active role of Uzbek parliamentarians within TurkPA. Delegations from the chambers of the Oliy Majlis regularly take part in plenary sessions, meetings of specialized commissions, and forums organized by the Assembly.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation between the parliaments of Turkic-speaking countries and ensure the active participation of Uzbek representatives in TurkPA events.
