Chairman of UK-Uzbekistan All-Party group holds talks at Uzbekistan’s MFA

Lord Waverley, an independent member of the House of Lords and the Chairman of UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Central Asia, and All Party Parliamentary Group on Uzbekistan, held negotiations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on 15 May 2013.
Lord Waverley arrived in Uzbekistan to participate at international exhibition and conference “Oil and Gas Uzbekistan 2013” and to hold bilateral talks.
During the meeting, the sides considered issues of deepening Uzbek-British relations. It was noted that inter-parliamentary dialogue is a key component of bilateral relations, stimulating further development of cooperation in trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.
They also considered implementation of the memorandum of understanding between Group of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on cooperation with the Parliament of Great Britain and All Party Parliamentary Group on Uzbekistan.
The sides also exchanged opinion on international and regional issues.
